Countdown to Atlantic APCO Conference@ Samoset Resort
        Attendee Checklist
        1. On-line registration has closed, BUT you can register upon arrival at the Samoset. Register for all 3 days or pick a one-day pass. We have 27 great educational presentations awaiting you, AND 47 exhibitors waiting to show you the best in technology, equipment, training and services for communications centers, there Monday &Tuesday. Plus the APCO Intl. executive board will be present to update the attendees on the progress, challenge, services and future goals for our organization. Don’t miss this premier educational opportunity.
        2. GOLFAnyone? The Samoset has an award winning 18-hole course, with a stunning backdrop on the Atlantic Ocean. For tee time reservations, fees, rental clubs, call Guy Soule @ 207-594-1431.
        3. WEATHER. We’re having a beautiful, mild fall season, expect daytime temps in the mid-60s. But we are on the coast, with a breeze, so bring your fleece, sweatshirts, just in case.
        4. Sightseeing. Bring your hiking shoes for some great walks along the ocean side and golf course. Also, hike to the Rockland Harbor Lighthouse, right from the resort. Our foliage season is still in bloom, plenty of pictures to take!
        5. Activities. Art lovers should visit the Farnsworth Museum in nearby Rockland. Solely dedicated to American and Maine-inspired art of all types. Current displays of “Andrew Wyeth @ 100 Years”, along with famous painting by family members Jamie and N.C..www.farnsworthmuseum.org. Also the Samoset has a great heated indoor pool, well equipped exercise room, and spar.
        6. FOOD. Please, no need to leave the Samoset for a meal. ALL meals are included in your full registration. This is far better than typical “hotel restaurant” food. From a welcome hot Hors d’oeuvres Sunday evening w/cash bar, superb dinners on both Monday and Tuesday evenings, with Tuesday dinner being roast turkey with all the fixings! After hours, visit and hang out downstairs at the Enoteca Lounge, cozy fireplace, soft chairs, a full wine, ****tail and beverage list. Plus, a great, full menu, and a wood fired pizza oven. Enjoy the outdoor patio, overlooking the golf course and Atlantic Ocean. See you there!
        7. ENTERTAINMENT. After Monday’s dinner, be sure to stay for the humor of Maine’s homegrown comedians, storytellers and authors, John Ford and Mark Nickerson. They will keep you laughing at their stories of decades of their law enforcement careers in rural Maine, back in the day! Cash bar. Tuesday’s after dinner event includes the annual awards recognitions, and an on-core special performance by recording artist and Uxbridge police dispatcher, Shanna Jackson, performing her co-written song, “Answer the Call”, a tribute to her fellow dispatchers and first responders. Don’t miss it!
        8. SPECAIL NOTE: For Monday morning’s breakfast and opening ceremony, please be seated by 7:30 AM. We will have presentation of the COLORS, bag pipes, singing of the National Anthem, and the Missing Man Table ceremony. Attendees will then proceed to a great buffet breakfast.
        9. QUESTIONS. Please look for the conference committee members in bright blue shirts for assistance. Or, at any time, your conference host, Steve Bunker, can be reached on his cell, 207-592-1247 or Stephan.bunker@gmail.com . See you soon!

Not too late to attend the biggest Emergency Communications educational event of the year in Maine! You may register upon arrival, for all 3 days or just a 1 day-pass. We will have over 27 different presentation topics over the three days, offering attendees a great opportunity to earn continuing educational hours for recertification. Of note to Maine EMD users and center QA staff, on Wednesday morning, Priority Dispatch will present a session entitled QA/QI and All those Important Reasons Why, by Anthony Guido. And on Tuesday, Oct. 24th, 3:15-4::00 PM, Lifeflight of Maine will provide a live Ground Safety Course with one of their craft.

Additionally, on Monday & Tuesday the conference will include 47 of the industry-leading companies who will be exhibiting the latest in technology, dispatch software & hardware, console furnishing & chairs, radio communications, networks, hiring/testing, protocols, scheduling, recording, training, consulting, just to name a few.

Ona personal note, I will be repeating my well received presentation from the 2017 APCO Intl. Denver conference entitled Identifying & Dealing with Problem Employees, on Tuesday, October 24th from 1-1:50 PM. I would enjoy having you in the audience.

For information on the conference program , schedule of events & and presentations, go to apco-atlantic.org/conference or contact me @ 207-592-1247 stephan.bunker@gmail.com
