Southwest (Texas) Regional Communications Center Deputy Director Jennifer Garner, 46, of Waxahachie died Tuesday. Garner had served as Texas APCO secretary. She suffered from cancer.
According to SWCC, Garner began her career in public safety communications in 2008 with the College Station Police Department. She took on her post as SWCC deputy director in 2017.
SWCC reported that Garner helped plan the Texas Public Safety Conference. Garner advocated on behalf of the industry and favored introducing civilian norms into communications centers. Service details are pending.
