Good afternoon Chapter Members:
As you all are aware, the 911 SAVES Act is a bill that would reclassify Public Safety Telecommunicators as "protective" - rather than clerical in occupations in the federal Standard Occupational Classification. This is a case we have taken up before, but not like this!! There are now 15 U.S. Representatives sponsoring this bill. APCO staff has met with key congressional offices to discuss the next steps for building support and introduction of a companion bill in the Senate, and several of our own Atlantic Chapter members went Washington to help boost the reclassification bill.
Please, continue to promote the Take Action Link: https://www.apcointl.org/government-...s/take-action/ for APCO's advocacy campaign to continue to grow support in the House of Representatives. Share the link with others and when you can, call your state representatives to help us get this bill passed - together WE can make the difference.
